results:

After the intake of cow milk, serum estrone (E1) and progesterone concentrations significantly increased, and serum luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone and testosterone significantly decreased in men. Urine concentrations of E1, estradiol, estriol and pregnanediol significantly increased in all adults and children. In four out of five women, ovulation occurred during the milk intake, and the timing of ovulation was similar among the three menstrual cycles.

Soy milk on the other hand, helps you become and Equol producer.

I've always had the suspicion that it might play some kind of role.

Sounds like a load of rubbish, it may do something but negligible....

For those of us more motivated scraping together the pieces a simple switch in choice of milk is probably the easiest little advantage we can get.

Please read the study carefully. The statement is the exact opposite of what you think it is.

[...] follicle-stimulating hormone and testosterone significantly decreased in men. Urine concentrations of E1, estradiol, estriol and pregnanediol significantly increased in all adults and children.

This is exactly the state we want in our scalp and by no means this is anything bad. Testosterone is the precursor to DHT, the "follicle killer" in the scalp (but only there!). If testosterone is decreased, the result will be decreased DHT.

What they refer to when they say that "follicle-stimulating hormone and testosterone significantly decreased" is T's effect on non-scalp hair. In fact, testosterone leads to hair growth all over the body - except for the scalp, where it has the opposite effect in people suffering from Androgenetic Alopecia/male pattern baldness. Why do you think men have more body hair than women? Testosterone and its metabolite DHT.

Soy isoflavones have the exact same effect as stated in this study for cow milk - and are used by some to slow down their hair loss.

Yes stay away from "the white pest" a.k.a. "milk". However soy is not a solution either - it too is bad for hair growth. Better use rice or even better oat "milk" or nut "milk".

But all of this is good for hair loss
