At a complete loss, need some advice from the experts

So, long story short, I'm a diffuse thinner, possibly even DUPA, I've been taking Propecia for a year and a half, using Rogaine for about 4 months. During that time I continued to thin at the same rate as before treatment (very slowly), but since adding Rogaine I had a massive shed that didn't stop, it killed my density, especially up front. I also got side effects like puffy face, water retention, rapid heart beat and drastic changes in hair texture. I stopped Rogaine and Propecia cold turkey a few days ago because I truly think the Propecia has done nothing, and the Rogaine has done more harm than good.

After quitting I am continuing to shed, of course, and I fear at this rate I will have barely any hair in a few months. My hair looks like complete **** right now. Is there anything (i.e. Tricomin or NANO Shampoo) that might give me some modest benefits without the high possibility of side effects, or at least slow down my shedding? I got a bottle of Tricomin because I've read here it has no side effects and might help stop shedding, but then I've read all these horror stories that say even it can cause massive shedding and increase loss; what are your opinions on this?

I'm asking this here because out of all the hair loss sites on the web I've been to, you guys seem to know your stuff better than any of them, and I respect the opinions of many on this site. I know full well that some of you will encourage me to stick with the proven treatments of finasteride and Min, but I don't think my hair has been helped one bit by finasteride, and if it is DUPA it may not even be caused by DHT. Don't even get me started on why I hate Rogaine. Suffice to say, I am done using these drugs that could potentially screw with my body long-term.

Any specific answers or just general advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Before you quit Propecia, unless you have sides make sure it actually wasn't helping (It may have been helping by reducing the rate at which you thinned?)

I read on another forum a guy used Revita after quitting finasteride and dutasteride. - Not only stopping his finasteride/dutasteride gains from falling out but actually improved his hair a bit.

Thanks for the reply. In regards to quitting Propecia, I really don't think it has helped at all. I've had diffuse thinning that started in high school and progressed extremely slowly but at a steady rate, and that rate continued pretty much unchanged the entire time I was on Propecia before starting Rogaine. So Propecia might have been helping, but if it was, I truly think it's contribution was negligible, and not worth the risks and sexual side effects.

That is interesting about Revita shampoo, I might just order a bottle to see what happens. One more thing, the Rogaine caused massive shedding and turned a lot of my hairs more colorless; this may have been a sign of future regrowth, but the changes in hair texture and pigmentation really made me suspect I'm one of those people who gets ruined by Rogaine. Anyone go off Minoxidil after experiencing rapid thinning and had some of their density return? Or do the shed hairs stay shed if you quit?

If you scalp can handle 2% nizoral (2% ketokonazole) then go for it, it far more better than Revita (1% ketokonazole).
