Anyone ever give topical raspberry ketones an honest try?
I ran across an old study from 2008 regarding the topical application of raspberry ketones. There was some discussion on the forum, but no one reported back on their efforts and the thread turned into a discussion about a topical someone was selling. http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/archive/index.php/t-35100.html
Just curious if anyone ever gave it a good effort, and what results if any were had?
The original study abstract:
Effect of topical application of raspberry ketone on dermal production of insulin-like growth factor-I in mice and on hair growth and skin elasticity in humans.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18321745
This link contains supposed photos from the study group: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=ddgxuh&s=3
Another interesting study (though it is related to breast cancer) that identifies raspberry ketone as a AR antagonist is below. It says eugenol has a stronger effect.
Effect of essential oils, such as raspberry ketone and its derivatives, on anti androgenic activity based on in vitro reporter gene assay.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20226658
Any info on experiences would be helpful.
Thanks,
Sterling
