has anyone had any experience with American Crew Revitalize products?

I've been using nism shampoo for about 10 years, and it really did stop my hair loss. But maybe it's time to try something new (duh!).

Any reason to believe that it works. I notice it has the basic saw palmetto in it, but also copper peptides and green tea. Any good stories out there guys?

The Revitalize shampoo and conditioner are all right, but I don't consider them to be real hairloss treatments. I do like the copper peptide spray though. I haven't regrown any hair, but the hair I've got looks thicker and healthier.

I use the American Crew product woth Saw Palmetto and green tea and so far i have been impressed. Only been using it for two weeks and not had a bad hair day since.

I paid $45.00 Canadian for a combo pack (shampoo, conditioner, cu spray). If you are in North America, the American Crew website has a search function for locating stores that sell their products.

Stax - i started Nisim about a year (or maybe more) before starting finasteride. And i noticed that my hair loss stopped - although i would struggle to suggest that i actually managed to regrow any hair.

My mom actually bought it for me (i was maybe 22 at the time) and i was super unsure about it. But it showed results for me.

I like that American Crew has green tea in it, and the copper peptiedes (whatever the hell they are!) seem to be all the rage these days. And you know us hair-loss guys, we'll try anything once. And stick with it for 6 months.

Hi guys

Here is what I found out when I called AC over the phone:

Copper Peptide Concentration
AC Tricomin
Conditioner (.015%) (.05%)
Shampoo (.015%) (.025%)
Spray (.2%) (.2%)
Serum (.25%) (.25%)

The serum has the highest concentration of copper peptides.

I expect this guy has got his decimal points in the wrong place.

The concentrations of the spray and serum are more like 2.0 and 2.5% respectively.

The concentration of the CP in tricomin that grew more hair than 2% Minoxidil is 2.5% [see http://www.skinbiology.com/hairregrowth.html]

The CP in AC is believed to be the same as the one used in Tricomin.

Note Dr Pickart does claim though that the marketed Tricomin is weaker
than that used in clinical trials.

Folligen is rumoured to have a 9% "Smorgasbord" concentration of CP's (or according to Dr. Pickart 38 times more CP than Tricomin) but in terms of synthesis is first generation compared to Tricomin.

American Crew is the cheapest and definately the least effective. It sounds like Tricomin might be the best of those 3.

Red Rose: It would seem that the person you talked to was correct on his "decimal" points.

If Doctor Pickart says Folligen has 9 percent CP's, and has 38 times the amount of CP's than Tricomin, it would seem that 0.25 percent is a good round figure?

Since Tricomin has a specific CP, maybe it's misleading for Doctor Pickart to say 38 times more CP's?

Also, I thought folligen uses second generation CP's not first generation?

Old Baldy I think it is misleading for Dr Pickart to be making that "38 times more concentrated claim" because as you say Tricomin has a specific CP whereas Folligen is simply a smorgasbord of copper peptides cheaply made from mixing a solution of copper chloride with hydrolysed soy protein. Hardly next generation IMO! Folligen might be effective but as anyone who has used it would confirm, it is cheaply made stuff.

Tricomin on the other hand is the result of years of research with the patented copper-peptide molecule (Alanine/Histidine/Lysine Polypeptide Copper HCl) being directly and specifically synthesised in the laboratory and shown in FDA phase II trials to grow more hair than 2% minoxidil.

I think Tricomins deliberate specific synthesis of its triamino copper nutritional complex makes it 2nd generation compared to folligen.

What do you think?

Well, maybe the specific peptide route utilized by Tricomin and AC is as good as it gets with CP's?

It's hard to say which is better because I've never read a study comparing the two. I would imagine, however, that Folligen has at least as much of Tricomin's and AC's "specific" peptide in its overall mix?

Afterall, Doctor Pickart formulated the original recipe for Tricomin (and now apparently used by AC).

I would think he'd include various types of CP's he thought would do at least as much as Tricomin and AC? The patent on Tricomin's (i.e., Procyte's) peptide recipe expired last year, (in June I think). So there's no patent "danger" in having Tricomin's specific peptide in the mix.

Doctor Pickart appears to be an honest guy. His Skinbiology website provides a wealth of info. IMHO.
