Alvi Armani Cancellation Quote--any BAD experiences with AA?

Jeff from Alvi Armani contacted me regarding some cancellations in Feburary. They're offering 2700 grafts for $8500 in Toronto (I assume this is in USD?) to be grafted by Dr. Armani, himself.

Has anyone heard anything negative about Alvi Armani? Obviously the website pictures are quite impressive. I suppose it makes sense given that the number of grafts that he recommends is higher than that of other surgeons...

About me:

I'm 26.5 and here are a couple pictures of what I'm working with....it covers up alright but I'm definitely starting to show when my hair gets longer.

I've been on finasteride for a little over a year. It worked incredibly well for the first 7-8 months, with thickening and regrowth and then all went to hell in Sept-Oct with some massive shedding. It seems to be controlling any crown loss as it is quite minimal if at all.

Do you think 2700 grafts would be appropriate?

Mahair,
you're a jackass.

Harp79, I don't think your hairloss has progressed enough to receive a transplant of that size, or probably a transplant of that nature. How is the mid-scalp holding up?

Aplunk,

I have virtually no loss behind the vertex. I wouldn't anticiate any noticable loss in that area for at least 3-5 years, if even then. I am a bit concerned with the remaining vertex falling out, but I'm also not looking forward to being noticably balding during the later half of my 20's.

Looking at some of the pictures on AlviArmani's website, several of them have comparable hairloss to mine and have had the procedure done with near perfect results. I guess thats what's sorta sold me on it.

Have you tried rogaine for your front/temples?

You still have a normal crown meaning your Norwood male pattern baldness hasn't progressed to a significant level yet (and this could be because of the propecia or because it won't - some guys recede up front but their hair loss halts).

With that said, please re-consider the Hair Transplant. Of course their will be before and after photos of various types of patients, the purpose for those photos is to try to bring in as many people as possible $$$$.

There are other hairloss boards with a more active hair transplant area. I probably shouldn't mention the name of the place.

There are plenty of happy Armani patients to see who aren't featured on his website. Armani's results are spectacular and he has no need to cherry pick the best to promote his work.

thanks tpeter, I have quite a bit of hair gone and jeff at Armani suggested 4000 grafts. I mentioned i could not afford the money so he brought it down to a 10,000 with 3200 grafts. Is this going to be a small number in my case? did he suggested you having 2 sessions and did he ever talk about what happens to the hair bound to fall out later in life?

I know more hair will fall out int he future and he knows this too but we work with what we got at the time. In 10 years if i need another procedure or maybe 5 years then so be it. He uses high density for hairlines and uses less as he goes further down your head.

Just look at Jeffs pics man, he was really diffused and i think his hair now looks amazing.

Ask to speak with the Doctor personally if this would ease your mind.

tpeter, u rule man..

thanks for all the info.. if ur in NV why did u go to Canada?

or u never went there?

I actually just moved to Charlotte NC to be closer to family. I also lived in Buffalo NY before so i drove up to Toronto with my girlfriend who lives in Buffalo. Only an hour drive.

Plus i would have still went if i lived in NV, i would want the best Doctor to do this procedure and i havent seen any bad things on Alvi. You will like his staff and all they do for you.

tpeter, are you going to post any pics?

Also, how did you like Las Vegas?

I think there are too many damn Californians moving here.

LOl i thought all the people from Cali were moving to VEgas because its still cheaper.

I do need to get pics up... right now all you can see is nasty scabbing which will come off next week when i can shower.

Then the hair will fall out and i will look like i was before. I will post pics then, then you can see the difference when the new grass grows in.

It is much cheaper than Cali. (Only $600 for a 710sq. ft. apartment - Not bad, huh?)

Can't wait until your pics are posted!
