I am 21 years old. I started off with Rogain 5% when I was 19. Below are pictures taken 5months after I first started to use Rogain (when I was 19)

Shortly after these picture I switched to Generic Kirkland 5% Minoxidil and started to take 1mg of finasteride daily.

I have been taking finasteride for the last 15months now & Minoxidil for the last 20months (15 months on kirkland & 5 months on rogain)

Below is a current picture of my hair. I usually buzz it but I let it grow out to see how bad my hairloss is.

I need to make change my regimen to do something about my worsening hairloss. I considered switching to dutasteride but I read a guys story advising not to after he spent $5000 having his tits removed and 6months after stopping it, he still has a limp dick.

Please advise me on a new regimen.

I'm starting to think maybe starting finasteride and switching to generic minoxidil 15 months ago was a terrible idea because my brothers had the same signs of hairloss at 19 and both only used rogaine which maintained their hair until they were 24. My hair at 21 is tens times worse than theirs was at 25, maybe because I switched to a generic brand minoxidil and started to use finasteride.

Your progression may be due to the fact that Propecia is no longer effective for you.

Whether or not you use generic minoxidil likely has no effect on your hair.

I say stick with one or the other.

Dutasteride hasn't been approved for male pattern baldness, so you're taking your own risks here. The chances of side effects are about as equal as they are with finasteride.

I've fortunately suffered no side effects with dutasteride.

Do a little research. Talk to a doctor. If you take your dutasteride, do it under the supervision of a doctor. I don't see any problems with this.

A lot of people use dutasteride when finasteride fails them. I personally use it for the same reason.

Best of luck, buddy.

naturalis is a scam. stick to the big 3. replace finasteride with dutasteride, if finasteride does not work.
Add Dr. Proctor's nano shampoo.

Thanks for the input.

I think I'll continue using finasteride until september and consider switching to dutasteride then. The higher risk of side effects with dutasteride kind of frightens me, so I'll keep an eye on the dutasteride forum and see how everyone is getting on, maybe it'll be a step closer to being approved by the fda by then.

If I do go down the dutasteride route I would be self medicating (which I am currently doing with finasteride), because most doctors in my country aren't even aware that finasteride exists, let alone dutasteride.

At the moment my regimen consists of finasteride 1mg, minoxidil 5% and nizoral. I need to add something to give it a bit of a boost, what do you recommend adding? Is folligen even worth considering?

Rogaine, spironolactone, and copper peptides...

I'll let you choose between Propecia or Dutasteride.

That's what I say.

I don't know where the best reasonably priced spironolactone is, but I get the legit stuff from Dr. Lee. His spironolactone products will last you a long time:

$19 for a 2-month supply of 2%

and $35 for a 3-4 month supply of the 5% (If you only use on the temples and hairline)

It really does go a long way to invest in his spironolactone products. I'm seeing better regrowth with them.

As far as copper peptides go, I've been using Tricomin since Oct '05. I just got American Crew Revitalize in the mail today. I love it. They're both good products, but I like the AC Revitalize a lot better. It smells nice, has the same copper peptides, and is a hell of a lot cheaper. I found the best deals were on http://www.drugstore.com . They are the only place that sells 6oz bottles of it-- and at the same price as most places, although most places only sell 4oz bottles. Clearly, a better price deal. Check it out. It smells nice!

Thanks Aplunk

I ordered 2 bottles of tricomin last night from a different site before I saw your post, I am trying to cancel the order at the moment because I was really ripped off. The two bottles cost nearly twice the price of the large one on drugstore.com.

I also ordered 2% spironolactone spray off genhair.com, do you know if their stuff is any good?

I will order the 5% cream off minoxidil.com when I get home from work.

edit/ f*** the tricomin was already despatched, so I paid nearly twice of what I should have.
