I'm 19 years old and my hairloss began around fall 2004. My temples were the first to go, so I started on minoxidil immediately, because it was the easiest to access. But it made things so bad in 1 week that I just had to drop it. By then I had already ordered some Fincar off the net and was splitting it into 4. I've been taking Fincar for a little more than 6 months now. I'm sad to say that my results are a little dissapointing. My temples are worst and my vertex is thinning. Before the finasteride my vertex was fine, it was the temples that was the problem. I'm not sure what to do now, I know it take time for finasteride to work but 6 months is a long time. I'm also thinking that finasteride could have made my hair worse off than if I'd just left it alone without medication. Damn hairloss is a b**ch, especially when I'm only 19. I was thinking of switching to dutasteride, but it more expensive and I'm just about to give up hairloss medication. Any advice is welcomed

You shouldnt have dropped minoxidil. I was 20 (now I am 22) when my rapid hairloss started and with minoxidil I completely halted it (even if I didnt have any regrowth since now). Besides at those young ages, my opinion is, that dht doesnt play a basic role, its stress that fucks hair. I would recommend to you to start minoxidil and see a dermatologist as it is early yet. When I started minoxidil and for about 2 months my scalp was fucked up by it, but since then I have no irritation by minoxidil. Keep in mind that.
