if my hair is at the same stage it is now in 8 months time or worse which it probably will be,i will stop all meds and not just shave my hair but pluck
every hair out of my head, because if you are a diffuse thinner there is something that keeps telling you that it can get better but that is not the case, might get a wig or kill myself depends how i feel at the time.
This is why the next 3 months are goinhg to determine the rest of my life 1 way or another,1 thing for sure is ,if i had a crystal ball and that ball told me that things will remain the same or go worse i would hang myself tonight?

You're putting too much emphasis on your hair. You're doing all you can with the Big 3, and at the end of year 1 you should consider simple maintenance a success. If the Big 3 doesn't work, get a hair transplant from a good surgeon. Threatening suicide is a little OTT. There's more to life than hair, and even if there wasn't (!), there will be new technologies and treatments appearing in the next few years.

wouldn't it be sad if you hung yourself and ICX released good news the next day?
Or if you hung yourself but the parallel you (the guy with guts to live despite bad hair) came to accept the fact that life is still meaningful and enjoyable?

It is not funny business this hairloss, no one likes it but have some perspective or hope.

Antonio, I feel the same although not depressed enough to be suicidal. These treatments have been doin no good and hair is goin so quick cannot even get hair transplant although I have the money. I was not a diffuse thinner until I started finasteride.

I am confident Intercytex will get HM out, its just a question of when, just have to keep positive and try different things to help slow things down until then.

antonio666 you think and dream to much with a perfect NW1. It's no shame. I still think myself too. A NW1 with the girl i love on sunflower fields in summer daylight with merry songs of bee's.

You should accept reality and that you cant do no more. Or you can putting your life in danger.

I dont have the morality of saying this to you (everyone knows i cried and whinned to much and not only for hairloss) but cursing and threathing yourself with suicide, thinking that God will listen and give to you what you want, will not bring your hair again.

You should think that there's no solutions only compromises.

You ask no question just make a statement in what I consider a childish cry for help. Why else would one make such a statement? Your issues run far deeper then hairloss. I highly highly highly suggest seeing a psychotherapist. You clearly have not been conditioned to deal with adversity as your body reacts by sinking into depression. There are literally millions of young men who are not only bald but completely bald by the time they are 30 year's old, do you think it would be normal for all these men to kill themselves (or even consider death) over their hairloss? This is not about antonio and his hairloss, this is about antonio and his lack of overall self worth. How else can you explain that you seem to totally devalue yourself because you are losing your hair?

another wonderful testament for these wonder drugs that work so well that people would consider ruining their health and mental health over them.

Nick, sorry to use your comments as an example , i just hope that you can come to accept yourself the way you were destined to be.

I'm not sure if any of regulars on here have ever called Propecia or Avodart a 'wonder drug' - well, Marty Sawaya did I suppose. But the fact remains that they do "work" for the vast majority of men, and previous treatments, by and large, did not. Oh, and they very well tolerated by most users.

diff_5_year_chart.gif

In this 5-year study of men with mild to moderate hair loss:

9 of 10 men on PROPECIA had visible results (either regrowth of hair, 48% [134 of 279], or no further hair loss, 42% [117 of 279]) vs 25% (4 of 16) on placebo (sugar pill), according to an assessment of photographs by an independent panel of dermatologists.
2 out of 3 men on PROPECIA regrew hair, as measured by hair count. All the men in the study who were not taking PROPECIA lost hair.
A majority of men on PROPECIA were rated as improved by doctors: 77% (210 out of 271) vs 15% (2 out of 13) with placebo.
A majority of men on PROPECIA reported their bald spot getting smaller, their hair loss slowing down, and the appearance of their hair improving.

antonio living life in extremes is bad and there is some hope. Try some antidepressants. I think you are sufferring needlessly. I take 4 drugs at the same time for this crap. I have been in those thoughts so many times and know when you feel mentally healthy your outlook on yourself is totally different. We all fear change and is why we are here. I can say weight training is helping the most. These are results you can get and see. Give it a try.

I also forgot to mention to get out as much as possible and don't hide under a hat. I am bipolar and agoraphobic and I do it. Hell I have a few dates this weekend. I havent been on a date in about 6 years. If I can do it you can my friend. Getting laid is another story but take the first few small steps to get it going.

s.a.f, he is a diffuser. The Norwood scale doesn´t say that much about our hair loss. You know, when we realize it at first, the damage is already done and our "hair" looks like sh*t.

Antonio, we are in the same boat. I have switched to dutasteride a few days ago. It is my last hope, if it doesn´t work or worse: I am shedding heavily then I am gonna kill myself as well. Life without hair just doesn´t make sense to me. It looks so incredibly thin up there. I understand you. Good Luck for your hair. Btw., I made the mistake that I didn´t go on the most powerful treatments immediately. If hairloss is so agressive such as ours you need dutasteride. Waste no time!

Ive read and heard of propecia working better on some people than dutasteride. Dont ask me how, cuz i have no clue.

This is pretty pathetic :x , there are people out there without arms and legs, blind people, the paralised.
Are you saying that you'd rather be in a wheelchair or blind as long as you had great hair?

Taug and Antonio, maybe you should do some volunteer work at one of those places that helps terminally ill children
Maybe we all should, sure I complain about my crappy hair I hate it but it does'nt ruin my life.
Cant you see how crazy you sound?
If a guy came to you and told you that he was going to kill himself because he had a small wang, or a girl who had small breasts what would you think? Would you say thats justification for writing off your entire existence?

This could get really interesting if dutasteride "doesn't work" for taug.
