The donor site became infected within a week or so. I woke up in the middle of the night with my head lying in a pool of blood in the pillow. I rushed to the hospital where they stitched me up and said I was lucky not to bleed to death in my sleep as an artery had been infected. Since then, particularly when it's cold, my head tingles at that donor site. Naturally I canceled the rest of the transplant and got some of my money back. The plugs were slightly visible for a decade or so afterwords. I know today's transplant methods are more sophisticated, but surly there are better technological innovations than using medicines initially meant to treat other problems.
