I began a new medicine prior to diagnosis (plaquenil) in Feb 2010. I took this medication until June 2010 but lost approximately 40% of my hair. No patches but severe thinning and breakage. I used to have thick hair now its thin. I know I cannot define myself with my hair but that was one feature I was very proud of. I have tried adding Folic acid, Rogaine 5% but I have experienced lots of facial peach fuzz, and Nioxin. I have noticed new hair sprouts however I may have to go back on the medicine for Lupus.
