It all began when I got a foam perm in the late 80'w (just on top) and they guy let the stuff stay on too long. It may my hair frizzy and irritated my scalp, but not quite a burn. I have had itchy and scaly areas of my scalp for about 8-10 years and never went to the dermatologist for it - just never thought that the itchy scalp issues would cause hair loss. Wow, was I ever wrong on that assumption! I have noticeably thinning hair and especially on top. I don't quite have any bald areas as yet and want to make sure that I don't continue to lose hair.
