This means I shed hair due to stress and/or trauma and continue to shed hair well after the stressful or traumatic episode. The hair dies not return after such a long period of shedding. I have had a few such episodes in my life, resulting in my hair turning white overnight at a relatively young age (also a sympton of stress) as well as diffused hair thinning all over. As a female, I stopped work in my mid-thirties due to the stigma and have not worked since.
