Hi everyone,
This is my first blog so i hope i make a good impression. Let me start by saying this feels so good by doing this type of thing, by that i mean sharing my thoughts, feelings and experiences with you guys.
Well lets get to the subject in hand. I have posted some pictures of my hair transplant with the Hospital Group (Wellesbourne Clinic, Warwickshire) from May 2005 (i have another name for them, but don't go there). This is actually the first time i have expressed my disappointment with the procedure i had.
On the day of the procedure i was feeling good and optimistic, in fact i felt that way for about two or three months later thinking that my procedure was going to look good. It was the approaching months when the alarm bells started ringing. He, the surgeon i am referring to, gave me 1100 grafts that day, well that's what he said, and just by browsing other peoples surgery from other clinics, i saw people that had up to 2400 grafts and the scar in their donor site was much smaller than the one in my donor site. I was left thinking i have an eight inch wide scar on the back of my head, and a poor transplant to show for it.
As the grafts started to grow i could tell that they were to far apart in places which would need a second procedure to fill in the gaps. Now this is fine apart from the fact i was told i would only need the one procedure to get my desired effect, i now know that they were placed that way so that i would have to come back for a second procedure. They also promised aftercare letters, phone calls and evaluation , to which i received none.
I have recently arranged another procedure in September with a true professional this time, and from having a consultation with him, he confirmed my worst fears in that it was a shambles of a procedure which i had four years earlier. He said the grafts were to far apart, poorly placed, growing in the wrong direction and the scar far to big for the amount of grafts i had. He went on to say that they have had lots of clients coming to his office with similar Hospital Group Horror Stories.
Something which really took the biscuit for me was to find out that there featured patient which has been there featured patient for the last five years, did not have his procedure with the Hospital Group, but with another clinic, now correct me if i am wrong, but how WRONG is that, to actually take the credit for some other surgeons work.
I could mention names and go to town on these people, but i am professional about this, and i am just warning you to NOT, I REPEAT NOT EVEN DREAM ABOUT GETTING A HAIR TRANSPLANT WITH THESE PEOPLE. The sooner people know about people like this the better, thus preventing them getting ripped off like i was. My pictures, pre op and post op, are in my photos section. I will also be putting before and after pictures of my second procedure which is happening in September.
Well bye for now and thanks for reading,
Chris
