Copper Peptides to stimulate hair growth. Might sound a bit odd, but this technology is one of the most unique and successful alternative methods of treating hair loss. Unlike Propecia, it doesn't inhibit DHT to stop the cause of hair loss, and unlike Minoxidil, it doesn't use Potassium Channel openers to stimulate hair growth. Tricomin is in its own class...

 What is Tricomin?

Tricomin is a therapy spray that is applied topically. It is part of a suite of products that include a shampoo, conditioner, and conditioning shampoo Tricomin made it into our list of clinically efficacious products because it is one of the few products to have actually stimulated growth in intensive partial FDA trials. In Phase II clinical studies, it had very positive results on some of the 36 men who applied the treatment topically twice a day for 24 weeks. It uses a technology known as the "Copper Peptide Technology" to do this.

 Who is this Treatment for?

Tricomin is for use in both Men and Women experiencing any form of hair loss.

 What is it used for?

Tricomin is best used as a supplemental addition to a regimen attempting to stimulate hair growth. It is also a very good scalp conditioner for those who do not tolerate Minoxidil very well. The two used together make an excellent growth stimulant regimen, and in conjunction with Propecia even better.

 Tricomin's Method of Action

At any given time, a large portion of the follicles on your scalp are in a Resting or Growth phase. With most forms of hair loss, including several of the less common Alopecia's, a larger number of follicles enter into resting phase than normal. This results in less regrowth, and the development of bald spots or thinning. Propecia works to stop the *cause* of this chemical reaction by stopping it at the root (so to speak) of the problem by inhibiting the formation of DHT in the blood stream. In men's hair loss this is almost always the cause. Not necessarily so with women. Minoxidil works to stimulate growth without stopping the cause of the loss, by "shocking" the follicle into activity. Tricomin on the other hand, shortens the resting phase of the follicle, causing a greater number of follicles to be active at any given time, thus producing hair.

As we know, DHT is largely responsible for the eventual degradation of the size, width, and length of the follicle for both males and females. During this process, several very important nutrients are compromised, and their production can sometimes slow or completely stop. This is where Tricomin comes in. The presence of Copper has been shown to inhibit 5-Alpha Reductase, which is responsible for the formation of DHT. As we grow older, these peptides in the body decrease, opening the way for 5-Alpha to do its work in helping to form DHT in the follicle. Copper is also responsible for stimulating the development of the basic ingredients which make up a healthy hair follicle. Hair grows in phases. There are periods of time where a follicle will be growing, and other periods where it lays dormant, known as the Resting Phase. During the growth phase, substances at the base of the follicle such as collagen and various Proteins are actively in production, while during the resting phase, they are virtually inactive. Tricomin has been shown to stimulate them into production by delivering Copper peptides to the base of the follicle. This is where these four hair loss treatments come into play. Take a look at each, and see if they meet your needs.
