Martin's 6 Month Results

After 6 months on a regimen of Propecia, Rogaine, and Nizoral shampoo, Martin is already showing results...

March 1, 2002

We apologize for the delay in getting these pictures up. The redesign of the site put us a little behind schedule, and Martin had some spring breaking to attend to, so here we are in May posting his 6 month results. Look at the bright side, his 9 month results are only 1 month away!

Since Martin's first set of images were taken in the dead of summer, he was sporting a tan and some slightly sunbleached hair. These newest photos are after a long dark winter, so the skin is lighter and the hair significantly darker. He swears to us that he did not color it. Despite this, he is showing good progress in thickening what he already had! For six months, this is quite a nice improvement. We've done a thumbnail comparison for you.

We did our best to retain the exact same level of brightness and exposure as possible. Martin did his best to take the photos in the same positions as the baseline ones. Martin came to us planning on persuing a hair transplant. We strongly encouraged him away from that route as his first plan of attack, and encouraged him to use the two most proven treatments available on the market today - Rogaine and Propecia. He made a deal with us to give them a try for at least one year, and track his progress with photos. Playing the odds... we were confident he'd see at least some results!

The Top Wet

Once again the color difference is rather distracting, but the increase in hair density is obvious. As you can see in the images at the bottom, this is just Martin's natural hair color coming through. Immediately below are some photos of the top of his head at baseline and at 6 months, while wet.

Martin contacted us at about the 4 month mark going half insane. He was dealing with the inconvenience of having to apply the minoxidil two times a day, and all the difficulties that go along with that. In addition, he was experiencing an increase in irritation and skin problems in the areas of application. It was all we could do to convince him to even stick with the regimen another day longer. In the end, we are going to have him try one of several skin conditioning treatments like Tricomin Spray or Folligen cream to give his scalp some relief from the rigors of Minoxidil 5%.

The Sides...

As you can see, Martin hasn't made a bunch of headway in moving forward the temples, but a close comparison reveals that the above photos are correct. He has increased density in the front. For those of you who may doubt his hair color, here you can see that this is his natural color. Note the change in eyebrow color as well from summer to winter. We look forward to seeing Martin's 9 Month update soon!
