Join
the chat using mIRC
Six quick and easy steps on how to use the most popular IRC client
to join the HairlossTalk chat room.

For those of you who don't prefer using Java applets to chat online, we
have a very unique chat server which will allow you to connect using any
IRC chat program available today. The most popular one is called mIRC.
mIRC is a windows application which enables you to connect to
any IRC network on the Internet. Currently there are thousands of chat
rooms and IRC servers out there, but HairlossTalk now has its own! This
program has far more functionality than our Java applet, including the
ability to send and receive files, greater stability, and hundreds of
customization options for your chat experience. The instructions below
will show you how to install and connect directly into the same chat
room running from our web site, and the other sites in our network.
It's all one chat room, with many entrance points.

Installation
and Setup - Six Steps
 |
 |
1. Install and launch the program. A box with a man's
picture will appear. Click anywhere on this box to make it disappear.
2. An window titled "mIRC options" will appear. Near
the top right of this window, click the "Add" button.
Description: HairlossTalk
IRC Server: chat.hairlosstalk.com
Leave everything else the same and click "Add".
3. Enter anything you want in "Full Name" and "Email
Address". Enter the chat name you want to be known by in the "Nickname"
field.
4. Click "Connect to IRC Server"
5. A window titled "mIRC Channels Folder" will appear.
In the blank box at the top, type "hairloss" and hit ENTER.
6. You're in! If you see people's names along the right side, then
others are in the room with you. To chat, just type in the box at the
bottom of the screen and hit enter. You will want to maximize the chat
room window to make it full screen, so you may do that at this time by
clicking the box shaped icon in the upper right corner of the chat room
window.
Note: The standard font for mIRC is a very ugly "Fixed Sys".
We recommend you set yours to Arial. To do this, simply go up to TOOLS,
select "Font", and choose Arial from the font list.
