ISO 9001:2000 is an internationally recognized Quality Management System standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). To be certified to the standard, companies must implement a Quality Management System (QMS) embracing the activities of the company from staff training to customer service; the design and development of products; the purchasing of materials and services and the delivery of the products and services. Certification to ISO 9001:2000 assures customers that Lexington International operates a Quality Management System in accordance with the standard.

In order to earn certification, Lexington implemented the quality system processes under the management of Jonathan Halperin, the Lexington Quality Representative. "Lexington employees documented their processes and performed internal audits to ensure conformance," Halperin said. "We are very pleased to have gained certification. It took a coordinated effort from management and staff."

Lexington was audited by BSI Management Systems, the world's largest quality management registrar, independent certification and auditing company that registered Lexington's compliance with ISO 9001:2000. BSI will periodically conduct routine surveillance audits of Lexington International's business operations to assure conformance.
