* New Chat Transcripts Section!
Article by HairlossTalk.com
Site Updates December 7, 2002

Check out our new toy! The new chat transcripts section has some pretty cool new features to help you find the information you want on any topic discussed... from the latest treatments to updates on your buddies regimen.

You can see our old transcripts section, as it used to look by clicking HERE.

New Chat Transcripts (View it by clicking HERE)

We've done a little house cleaning, and the transcripts are not only easier to read, but far more useful.

Problem 1. How to find topics of interest to you in a 10 page, 5,000 line block of text.

We have topics listed at the top of the page (see image below) that enable us to point you to major sections of the transcript by simply clicking them, but that doesn't tell you *all* the times the topic was raised. You'd still have to fish through the whole thing to find them, and by that time your eyes would be falling out of your head!

Solution 1. The new Floating Search Tool.

We decided that in order to tackle this first problem, we'd need something that would not only help you find any occurrence of a word in the transcript, but also quickly navigate from occurrence to occurrence throughout the whole transcript. To accomplish these goals, we created our Floating Search Tool, which quite literally is the only one of its kind we're aware of anywhere on the Internet.

Here's how to use it:
(Try yourself by Clicking Here!)

1. Click the "Search" icon at the top of the transcript.

2. Instantly, the floating search tool will scroll down the page to greet you. To find the occurrence of any word in the transcript, simply enter the word of interest, and click Go!

3. The floating search tool will immediately take you to the first occurrence of that word within the transcript. Clicking Go again will take you to the next occurrence, and the next, and so forth. This feature only works on the current page you're viewing, so if you want to search another page, you must go to it, or click "Show All" under the page number list to view the entire transcript at once. In this fashion you can search the whole transcript with the floating search tool.

Additional Features

We've now also added the ability to:

  • Email a link to the Chat Transcript to up to 4 friends (Click here for Example)
  • View a printer friendly version of each page
  • View a printer friendly version of the entire transcript

We hope that the new Chat Transcripts section will be useful to you, and we encourage you to check back every week as we will be having special guest speakers, and weekly chats which you can review on a regular basis.
