* New "Natural" Product reports Succes in Women
Article by HairlossTalk.com
Hair Loss News Natural treatments are rarely tested for efficacy in treating hair loss, but this one was tested and actually showed results... but only in Women...

More than nine in ten subjects taking the products in a six-month double-blind, placebo controlled clinical trial report hair loss improvement using a product called 'NuHair' by Biotech.

Message from HairlossTalk.com: Treatments claiming to be "natural" should spark a certain level of healthy skepticism in the consumers mind. Many things touted as natural are just as toxic to the human body as any pharmaceutical product, and the level of effectiveness of these treatments is often times lackluster at best. However, the same can be said for the various "proven" products, and the issue of how well one responds is always a major factor for any proven or unproven treatment. As a result, the healthy skepticism is not to imply that the natural treatments do not work... its more so a consequence of the lack of hard scientific data we have on them in regards to effectiveness and safety. If they were tested and verified under as rigorous conditions as your standard pharmaceutical hair loss treatments, being cautious about the term "natural" would be unnecessary.

The good news is, several new research centers are springing up around the country which have made it their goal to begin actually testing the effectiveness of natural / herbal treatments for various ailments, including hair loss. Marshall-Blum LLC is one of them. This is the most promising news HairlossTalk has heard to date, as we strongly feel there are thousands of potentially helpful herbal treatments out there. Someone just needs to regulate them, test them, and verify their efficacy.

The company known as BioTech has recently done a mini trial on one of their new treatments called "NuHair", and have reported in a press release that it actually showed good results in Women. Women's hair loss is typically caused by one or more underlying imbalances in the system which, if rectified by proper medical treatment, can result in full restoration of hair without the use of growth stimulants. Women who cannot find the underlying cause, or want to kickstart the reversal, commonly use growth stimulants like Rogaine or Tricomin to help in the short term.

It should be noted that a press release like this one is not the result of rigorous peer review for authenticity and fact. As a result, the company can pretty much say anything they like in it, and we don't completely know if it is true. The real test will be to see if this trial actually gets published in a legitimate medical journal and passes review by physicians for good testing practice, and accurate results. Since it is our obligation to bring you all the news out there, we would like to present this press release to you. We will keep you updated of any new developments with the progression of this treatment from Press release to legitimate treatment, in the future.

Natural Treatment Performs in Studies

BANGOR, Maine, -- Important new findings from a preliminary clinical trial of NuHair(TM), a two-component herbal supplement designed to reduce hair loss and promote healthy hair, were announced today. Subjects who completed the clinical trial and took NuHair demonstrated statistical improvement over placebo groups in hair thickness, perceived appearance, and hair loss improvement at both the three (3) and six (6) month intervals.

Specifically, more than nine-in-ten (92.3%) of the subjects that completed the NuHair clinical trial reported hair loss improvement. Additional top-line findings of those subjects completing the clinical trial include:

Perceived Appearance: More than three-fourths (76.9%) of the subjects taking NuHair reported some level of improvement in their perceived appearance compared to fourteen percent (14.3%) taking the placebo.

Thickness: More than three-in-four subjects (77.0%) taking NuHair reported some level of improvement.

Additionally, there were indications that actual hair growth was attained but the Company is awaiting a second trial to affirm those results.

Approximately 90% of the subjects taking NuHair were "happy" or "extremely happy" with the product. Two-thirds of subjects taking NuHair reported that they would continue to use the product while approximately thirty percent (31%) were uncertain. More than six-in-ten subjects taking NuHair reported that they would recommend the product to others.

About the Clinical Trial: The prospective, randomized, double-blinded placebo controlled clinical trial was conducted by Marshall-Blum, LLC, for BioTech Corporation. The clinical trial, which surpassed Institutional Review Board design requirements, was limited to women between the ages 40-60. Twenty-six (26) and seven (7) subjects completed the trial on product and placebo, respectively.

About Marshall-Blum, LLC: Marshall-Blum is a unique healthcare consulting and research firm, specializing in clinical trials advanced methods of data analysis and outcome-based solutions. More information about Marshall-Blum LLC is available at www.marshallblum.com.

About Biotech Corporation: Headquartered in Glastonbury, Connecticut, Biotech Corporation is a leading provider of natural products that help people look and feel better. Founded in 1994, Biotech began by offering natural hair growth supplements. Since that time, BioTech's product line has been dramatically expanded to include more than 30 SKUs. Distribution has been expanded with the Company's products now being available in 12 international markets.

Note: Until this treatment has found its way into a legitimate Medical Journal as a published study, we strongly advise women wishing to jump-start their hair growth to stay with the treatments currently available on the market, like Tricomin and Rogaine for Women, as well as an aggressive treatment regimen to rectify the underlying cause of the hair loss.
