The results of the HairlossTalk users who participated in the Revivogen consumer trials, to track how well they responded to treatment over several months. The numbers are in!
HairlossTalk Revivogen Consumer Trial Results
July 15, 2001 - San Diego, CA
The following results were obtained by a web questionnaire
HairlossTalk put together and sent out to over 150 verified Revivogen users
who had been on the treatment (preferably) for 6 months or more. As you
can see, only 24 people out of that 150 responded. Sorry folks, we tried.
After viewing the following results, don't
forget to check out the Revivogen Consumer Trial page, showing the results of the Revivogen-lead
Consumer Survey's. Of course, for a combined view of both trials
and a good look at how well Revivogen did for all 50 participants in both
trials, check out the Summary
Comparisons Page.

Results
were ok. Results seem mixed to start with I shedded for
a while (first 2-3 months) then it slowed right down. I
felt like I was not shedding as much as before and the reasons
for this where:
- Less hair on pillow
in morning
- Hair seemed slightly
thicker
- less hair fall out generally
(i.e. on desk at work, in shower etc.)
So between now and then
it has balanced out really, some days my hair feels a
lot thicker then normal and others it feels quite limp.
I tend to avoid keeping checking it every day, as sometimes
it can effect your confidence. The only side effects I
have had is spots around the fore head, other then that
I have seen nothing else I have noticed. Finally, I feel
the product is helping to reduce my hairloss but would
like to see a few hairs growing? I guess time will tell.
P.S
Thank you for your site I feel it is a help to all men
and women out there suffering with this blooming hairloss.

At
the six month mark, I evaluated the difference. Temples
appear to have filled in slightly, although I would like
to wait until the 1 year mark to confirm. Main difference
is markedly decreased hair loss when washing.

First,
I have not experienced any negative side effects. I believe that Revivogen
has helped marginally (i.e. either maintained the hair that I have or
increased the hair count by 10%).

When I
first started using Revivogen my hairloss slowed down and the shedding
I was going through about every 4 months was much less. I am now going
through another shedding period after 6 months of use. But this time
it is as bad as before I started using Revivogen. I was very happy with
the way it slowed down my hairloss but now I'm a little worried. I'm
going to continue using it to see how I get through this shedding period.
As for hair regrowth, Revivogen gave me little thin hairs. I was surprised
to see some thin hairs come in the front of my hairline. But after 6
months these hairs have not grown any thicker.
On a scale from 1 to 10 I give Revivogen a 6 for slowing down my hairloss
( would have given a 8 if I didn't have this shedding now) I give a
2 for regrowth. this maybe a low number but I would only give Propecia
and Rogaine a 4. A score of 10 would be full hair restoration. Nothing
has even come close. I would recommend Revivogen to slow hairloss so
you can by your time until someone comes out with a real working hair
restoration product. I will only use all natural products. No
way will I screw with my Hormones!!!

Loss appears
to have slowed, yet I don't count hairs in the shower or anything like
that. It seems like fine hairs are filling in the bald spot. Overall,
I'm pleased with the spray & shampoo I use.

My hair loss was slow but controlled
with Rogaine & Propecia, but noticeably increased after addition
of Revivogen. In short, I'm worse off now than if I hadn't used it.
Consistent use has resulted in a fair amount of scalp irritation (itching
& flaking which I didn't have before), but absolutely no hair
regrowth, and an marked increase in the rate of loss. I can't see
any benefit from Revivogen and cannot recommend it to anyone. I'll
switch to a copper peptide formula to quell the scalp irritation &
hopefully slow the rate of loss. This might be the underlying problem
with Revivogen - the scalp inflammation & irritation might be
offsetting any benefit to be gained from the proactive ingredients.

I
have had pretty good results with Revivogen at the sides,
the temples have grown quite a bit of hair and that whole
horseshoe shape has been reduced considerably. I shed
a little more than usual but not enough to lose sleep over.
Within 2 months of starting
the treatment small hairs started appearing along either
side of my head above the temples, these hairs took ages
to grow and thicken but in the past 5 months have gradually
thickened up and increased in amount to the extent that
the hairline at the edges has filled in about 1 cm of
hair that wasn't there before! It must be said that these
hairs still are not as thick as my hair at the back of
my head and I'm wondering if they will ever really thicken
fully but nevertheless they are still welcome and I'm
hoping many more will grow!
So I'm very happy with
it from this aspect.
I still have problems at
the frontal hairline and throughout the middle which is
deteriorating continuously. It must be said that I haven't
really given the front and middle as much attention with
Revivogen as the temples and sides because they were not
really that bad when I started this treatment and have
only recently shown noticeable thinning, but I did apply
about 0.5ml here each night so it wasn't completely overlooked.
I have in the past month given a little more than usual
attention to this area with Revivogen and finally added
Proscar 1.25mg to try and give DHT at the front/middle
a good kicking. I'm hoping proscar and Revivogen together
will take care of the middle where it is getting worse.
I don't believe Revivogen worked as well for me at the
front/middle as it did at the hairline sides/temple region.
I have been using the original formula and never used
the new formula (of which I have heard some bad reports
on it's effectiveness. Who knows whether this is true).
After using Revivogen on it's own for 8 months I am in
at least a good position to judge it's effectiveness as
a single treatment for hairloss. I believe that it is
definitely effective to some extent ...otherwise I would
not have had any regrowth, but It's probably best used
with something like Propecia in combination to fight hairloss.
My belief is that it is
definitely not a snake oil as it has been effective on
me and many others. It also has many ingredients which
are proven DHT inhibitors (saw palmetto is one I'm not
so sure of). People should give it a go if not getting
anything from their current treatments...it may work for
you, even small amounts of regrowth is better than nothing.
Glad I could be of some help. Any questions or comments,
just email me. Best of Luck!!!

I haven't
seen any dramatic results on Revivogen, but keep in mind that I have
only been on it regularly for 4 months... and these last two months
of use have been very sporadic. Here are some of the observations I
noticed while using it:
I noticed increased shedding for the first 2-3 months, and my scalp
seemed to be much more oily than normal almost the entire time I was
using Revivogen. I'm not sure that Revivogen was the cause, but I will
say since I've stopped using it so often, the oiliness is almost completely
gone and the shedding has noticeably subsided. My hair is definitely
thinner than when I began back in January, but not a drastic change.
I believe in the logic behind the ingredients in Revivogen... but I
do not think I will continue using it.

With 6
months of use I have determined that my hairloss has been halted. At
this point in time I cannot say that I have noticed any significant
regrowth in my hair but I am hopeful, with continued usage, that there
might be some. If nothing else, the ability to maintain my current amount
of hair is worth the investment in Revivogen.

My
hair overall looks a little thicker overall and quite a
bit thicker at the temples. When I look very closely, I
don't see new hairs growing, but I see my remaining hair
shafts are very thick and healthy-looking. I don't see any
shedding or further thinning. No miracle cures or dramatic
hair growth, but a moderate improvement. Enough to continue
use.

Excellent
- thickness has definitely returned even at the temples although not
as much, this area may take longer but I am pleased with the results
thus far. I am not sure whether it has been Revivogen alone, but I was
using Regaine and Proscar for about 3 years with very little results
- I think these products work best when used in tandem.
