Is this a possible hope, or another bull**** ?

    I just found this:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ket-years.html

This is from today, seems like the PGD2 thing finnaly kicks the system
and people are starting to get feared about someone else will find the solution or the "almost solution" before them.

Cotsarelis is scared as **** that histogen will be the next thing, or Neogenic or whatever.
This is an inside war between those companies, and to me it seems like until 2014 we will have maybe not the solution,
    but a very better treatment.

It looks like more than a try of getting readers, but, who knows...
Im just another 21 years old who grabs any hope he can catch.

nice post!!! this is really important , i was wondering what they did with this research and im glad they took it a step further.. this has to be it, what we all been waiting for, just 2 down sides to this , first didnt they get further with the research? they say exact the same thing they said in march when this was found, only news is that this is gonna be a new treatment about 2 years. Did blocking pgd2 work? were are the results? and lastly this not the first time cotsarelis promises something will come out about 2-5 years... so in short.. its not bull**** this is possible...but dont get to exited as the others say... i cant wait till others know about this.

Dr Cotsarelis said: ‘We think these findings will have implications beyond male pattern baldness but, even if they don’t, we think it will be exciting.
what the heck does he mean by this?

btw guys lets have a cermony where we try to summon the great forum posters boldy and squeegee, we really need those guys now.

...well, I have been musing this over the last few months that it comes down to keeping what you have because something will be coming shortly that will absolutely stop hairloss...but regrowth will be the tough one -- or at least regrowth that would give enough comfort as opposed to peach fuzz or short vellus hairs that never go any further than 1cm in length...

...but it seems to me that whatever happens with this, it will be better for us with Histogen coming and the drug guy's fighting over a solution. Somehow I think we will need both method's to get back acceptable coverage back... This may even push Histogen's target market date sooner...

what the article doesn't mention is that ALL THREE prostaglandins are out of balance... PGD2 is elevated yes so it must come down, HOWEVER PGE2 is too low and PGF2 is too high! What are you going to do about those other two? Blocking PGD2 would only address a third of the problems

PGD2 is not the main problem, it's a marker of something bigger - my guess is inflammation.

...but the issue with PGD2 is that it's levels are localized....no where did anybody ever say that PGD2 levels are high systemically...or did they??? It seems to me that something is going on biochemically specific to the hair follicle that is binding PGD2 and causing inflammation...

I agree, there is more to this story, but much like a rat leaving a **** dropping trail, observing the high localized levels of PGD2 in the scalp should expose a new trail to follow...

"Amexidil, which increase blood flow to the hair follicles could in fact accelerate hair loss."

Where did they find that minox 5% "could in fact accelerate hair loss" ?

I don't think anyone can promise us anything, but this gives us early thinners more reason to hope

Great news! We already have safe CRTH2 Antagonists(Prostaglandin D2 Receptors) on the market so it shouldnt take long to try them on in terms of MPB.

I just wonder where he presented this.. I would love to see the source of a quote from him..

Definitely. But personally I would be OK with a full coverage by vellus hair of 1 cm or so, because I buzz down what remains on my head to about 0.5 cm every one or two weeks.

maybe you can believe this, but you're then obliged to believe it'll give you cancer alongside being tall, being short, going outside, being a recluse, mobile phones and being bald
