What treatment options do I have left?

Hey everybody, I'm a 23 year old male who has been dealing with a receding hairline for 3 years now.

I started to lose hair when I was stressed out in college (coupled with the passing of my mother) I definitely noticed my hairline has moved up a couple inches on the crown.

I used Rogaine at first, but after 6 months, i was left with an even thinner hairline and tremendous shedding so I had to stop, and I'm hesitant to use minodixl again.

I was recommended propecia by a dermatologist I saw, but after reading about all the side effects, there's no way in hell I'm taking that stuff.

I'm really anxious about my hair loss, I try not to think about it but I see loose hairs everywhere and I feel like I'm constantly shedding about 10-20 hairs everytime I rub my fingers through my hair.

Do I have any options left besides hair transplant, propecia, or rogaine?

Also note: I've started taking vitamin supplements and stopped smoking (for about 3 months) but still no difference in the rate of my hair loss. I don't see any thinning on the top of my head, but my hairline is receding faster than I could've imagined.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

The shedding you were experiencing while on Minox may have been a good thing, it may have been kicking out the weak hairs to make room for healthier and thicker ones. Nizoral shampoo is always an option too.

Propecia is your best bet, sorry. You can try Spiro or Revivogen. The verdict on those is unsure to the best of my knowledge. Or some experimental stuff. There is something new out called Folexen, people are excited about. We have no success stories yet, but has only been on the market a month or so.

topical antiandrogens, like RU58841. sure, there can be some side, but it should not be as severe as systemic 5ar inhibition.

^ if it works i'll be the first to let you know.
