dafuq? mpb isn't caused by excess androgens, it's caused by non-resistant folicules due to a genetic defect, a hair guy can have higher testosterone than a bald one and not go bald, it won't matter if he has good hair genes.

    get your facts straight

that's of course if you're not merely a troll.

You have 32 posts, almost all of which are anti-propecia and more than half contain name-calling and insulting behavior. You have also been registered for less than a month, yet you go on to suggest someone who has 700 posts and been a registered member for almost 3 years is a troll? Do you know what a troll is?

"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Please, take a good read through your own posting history and tell me that this isn't exactly what you have been doing.

I'd like to point out that some people *die* when they take a dose of viagra.

    Die.

Death is a side effect of Viagra, for a certain percent of people.

Yet how many of you love to pop one anyways?

    Perspective.

Aspirin can kill a child by causing Reyes Syndrome.

"Death of our Children" could be all over our televisions by Attorney's wishing to sue the makers of Aspirin.

How does this compare to "brain fog" .... from Propecia.

Or the guy who has soft erections?

    Perspective.

If you take Propecia and have side effects, stop taking it.

If you refuse to stop, despite side effects, don't go calling an attorney a month later to sue Merck.

I have yet to hear of a guy who took Propecia for 2 weeks, lost his ability for erection, *immediately stopped* taking the drug, and could never get hard again.

Anyone who says otherwise is full of crap.

You bring up some good points, Admin. When you sit on hair loss forums and all you read about is the horrors of finasteride, it's pretty easy to lose scope of reality, especially when comparing to other prescription medications. Here's a good example:

    http://adverseevents.com/drugdetail....andName=CELEXA

One of the more popular antidepressants Celexa has 25 times as many adverse reports as Propecia (30,000 vs 1,200) over the same 8 year period. There are over 1000 reports of completed suicides, 500 of which are suspected to have resulted directly from the drug. Completed suicides makes up 8% of side effects suspected to have resulted from Celexa. This drug is killing hundreds of people, yet it's still on the market and still prescribed to people all the time. This is about as serious as it gets, but the drug also causes the same sexual side effects as finasteride, yet at an even higher rate. What's worse is it's been conclusively linked (unlike finasteride) to persistent sexual dysfunction in a high number of individuals; as many as 1% of all users.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-SS...al_dysfunction

This condition is potentially affecting tens of thousands of people, maybe even hundreds of thousands. There are dozens of studies that show this condition is actually occurring. Yet I typed "post ssri sexual dysfunction" into news.google.com and didn't get a single hit. When I type "propecia sexual dysfunction" into google news, I get hundreds of hits. Where are all the protests and lawsuits??? I honestly don't understand it.

This is just one of dozens of antidepressants on the market, and the rest tell the same tale. These medications are prescribed to children often without second thought. It boggles my mind that a medication like finasteride could receive such a bad rap when it has such a strong safety profile compared to the REAL scourges out there on the market.

    - Muscle Wastage
    - Muscle Weakness- Joint Pain

I know i'm the village skeptic around here, but COME ON!!!

Not surprisingly, this individual is also experiencing depression, anxiety and panic attacks. Hmmm... Chicken or the egg?

My point is that it is extremely unlikely his current symptoms resulted from taking two finasteride pills. By far the simplest and most obvious explanation is that his symptoms have resulted from acute, severe anxiety and panic attacks.

I'm sure there are people who have had some side effects, but the thing is there are some people who will conjure up these side effects themselves once they are planted in their head. Even those who took a placebo in the Propecia trials had side effects.

I'm sorry but the guy that was linked above who took 2 propecia pills across 2 days either has some other serious health issues and/or is a hypochondriac. This is the problems he listed he had 50 days after his last (of 2) dosage of propecia:

Put an X beside all that apply:

    Sexual
[x] Loss of Libido / Sex Drive
[x] Erectile Dysfunction Improved, Though penis is not as hard as it used to be
    [ ] Complete Impotence
    [x] Loss of Morning Erections
[x] Loss of Spontaneous Erections Improving
[x ] Loss of Nocturnal Erections
    [ ] Watery Ejaculate
    [x] Reduced Ejaculate
    [ ] Inability to Ejaculate / Orgasm
[x] Reduced Sperm Count / Motility

    Mental
[xxxxxxx] Emotional Blunting / Emotionally Flat
    [x] Difficulty Focusing / Concentrating
    [x] Confusion
    [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Memory Loss / Forgetfullness
[xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Stumbling over Words / Losing Train of Thought
    [x] Slurring of Speech
[x] Lack of Motivation / Feeling Passive / Complacency
[xxxxxxxxxxxx] Extreme Anxiety / Panic Attacks
    [x] Depression / Melancholy

    Worse than ever.

    Physical
[x] Penile Tissue Changes (narrowing, shrinkage, wrinkled)
[x] Penis curvature / rotation on axis
    [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Testicular Pain
[x] Testicular Shrinkage / Loss of Fullness
[x] Genital numbness / sensitivity decrease
    [ ] Weight Gain
    [ ] Gynecomastia (male breasts)
    [x] Muscle Wastage
    [x] Muscle Weakness
    [x ] Joint Pain
[xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Dry / Dark Circles under eyes Wrinkles to WTF?!?!?!?!?!?

    Misc
    [ ] Prostate pain
    [xxxxxxxxxx] Persistent Fatigue / Exhaustion
[xxx] Stomach Pains / Digestion Problems
    [xxxxxx] Constipation / "Poo Pellets"
[xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Vision - Acuity Decrease / Blurriness So bad..Eye floaters, blue flashes of light
    [xxxxxxx] Increased hair loss
    [ ] Frequent urination
    [x] Lowered body temperature
This is a chemical and physical impossibility, if he had these reactions 50 days later then he would have been hospitalised the minute he ingested the first pill. This is beyond ridiculous.
