Using dutasteride with Finasteride

I have been using finasteride for the past 5 years. I believe I have diffuse thinning and the finasteride has done a decent job of slwoing done the hair loss. I recently added minox five months ago to help thicken the hairs, but have not seen results yet. I want to add dustateride to see if that helps thicken the hairs.

Can I take dustateride maybe once or twice a week, while still taking the finasteride daily? I figure if I take less dustaride, there will be less chance of side effects.

Fin 1.25mg daily (past five years)
Niz 2% daily (past five months)
Minox foam 2x daily (past five months)

If you're going to take dutasteride, I would just drop fin. Dutasteride is going to drop your DHT 90%. Dutasteride also stays in the body a lot longer than fin and keeps dht down longer. I personally think it would be pointless to take both. Maybe try just switching to dut. If you havent had sides with fin theres a good chance you'll be ok on dut

I agree.

If you decide to go with Dut, you might think about getting it from 4rx.com. They sell it in tablet form, so you can quarter it and tak .125mg a day. Dut at that dose is still more effective at blocking DHT than 1mg of fin, and you could ease into it that way.

Depends on how much he takes. If he takes only a single Avodart capsule once or twice a week, I can GUARANTEE you that it's not going to drop his serum DHT level by 90%.

Dutasteride also stays in the body a lot longer than fin and keeps dht down longer.

That, too, depends on how much dutasteride he takes. If he takes the full, recommended dose of one Avodart capsule per day, the "half-life" will be about a month. But if he only takes it once or twice a week, the "half-life" will be only a few days.

Anything else I can do to thicken up the hairs I have? I would be happy with my hair lossm if I could only find a way to thicken the exisiting hairs.

I am thinking about slowly introducing my body to it down the road. It has a long half-life so I suppose I was going to start with 0.25mg per week to see if the side effects kick in and slowly increase it maybe with time if I feel it's necessary/worth the risk. But I was going to do all this all the while I am on fin until i start taking dut every day. I might not do this since RU seems more appealing to me once I get a source of income.

Okay well... regardless... I'd like to see the effects on my body first without diving into it by ingesting it every day.

This is exactly what I like to do...take it real slow with about 1 - 2 tabs a week. Just want to reduce any major shedding, reduce cost, and slowly transition the body to it.
