Rogaine results.. totally reversed & Lamotrigine side effect

    Hi,

I've been using 5% Rogaine Foam for about 4 months and while it has yielded very promising results around my hairline, it has done next to nothing for my crown. This is the opposite result of what Rogaine should normally help with.

I use it once in the morning and once after lunch. I also use Revita every day and Keto 2% twice a week.

Anyone here with a similar problem?

Also, I wanted to mention that I take 150mg Lamotrigine daily for my epilepsy and hair loss is listed as a rare side effect (1 in 100 to 1 in 1000). How could I find out if my hairloss is being caused by that?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I'm exactly the same as you.
I've been on rogaine foam for 4 months aswell, and have noticed the same thing.

I have been a diffused thinner for 10 years. In the last 3 years, loss has been accelerating around the temples and the crown considerably. Before taking the plunge and shaving it all off, I decided to give rogaine foam a go.

I can't see much hairs growing on the crown, but the temples have a heap of hair sprouting about half an inch long.

I've also been on Rogaine foam for 4 months. No regrowth as of yet, but it may take up to 6 months or so I heard. I am also a diffuse thinner, but have only been balding for for about 20 months now at a rapid rate. I am starting to get worried that Rogaine just doesn't stand a chance against aggressive male pattern balding as in my case.

Like I mentioned before, I have a heap of hair growing around the temples to half an inch long, after 4 months of rogaine foam. But they are still thin, weak and light coloured. I'm just a bit worried that this might be as good as it gets with minox.

I doubt minox can regrow thick, dark, 6 inch long hairs. More likely to around 1 inch, then the hair falls out, and starts again.

    Just my thoughts anyway.
