What is Crinagen?
Crinagen is a completely natural topical scalp preparation. Its natural ingredients perform two basic functions: they decrease the production of a potent male hormone associated with male-pattern hair loss (DHT), and affect the blood vessels that nourish follicles in the scalp. One of the unique aspects of this treatment is that it does not have just one active ingredient; it has many. These ingredients act together to help block factors that are detrimental to growth.
Who is Crinagen For?
Crinagen is for those seeking a natural alternative to Propecia, and who are interested in a less expensive alternative to Revivogen. Crinagen is in the class of treatments called "Antiandrogens", so it works to stop the cause of hair loss. It is for men experiencing diffuse thinning, the formation of a bald spot in back, recession at the temples, or any combination of these. Its major role is keeping your hair from getting any worse. Do not underestimate the importance of this step. You must stop the cause of your hair loss to see optimal results on Growth Stimulant treatments like Rogaine Foam. This treatment also has some growth stimulating properties; however it is suggested you use Rogaine Foam or Tricomin in combination with it if this is your goal.
How does Crinagen Work?
DHT damages and miniaturizes follicles. The body responds to this injury with an inflammatory response which is primarily mediated by the immune system. This further damages and eventually destroys the follicle itself. The best way to stop the progression of Androgenic Alopecia is to correct the underlying genetic defect that causes it. Unfortunately, gene therapy is not yet possible. The next best solution is to block the formation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). One of the actions of Crinagen is to block the activity of 5 alpha-reductase and, thereby, its ability to convert testosterone into dihydrotestosterone. In this manner, it reduces the amount of DHT within the scalp. Reducing the amount of DHT reduces its miniaturizing effects on the follicle. It also reduces the amount of injury caused to the follicle and the extent of the immune response targeted to the follicle.
Crinagen Ingredients
The ingredients are: Distilled water; Polysorbate 20; Azelaic Acid; Zinc Acetate Hydrate; Niacin; Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxal-5-phosphate); Saw Palmetto extract (serenoa repens); Ginkgo Biloba and a mild natural fragrance. The two most powerful ingredients of are Zinc and Saw Palmetto. Both agents have been shown to block the conversion of male sex hormones (such as testosterone) into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Dihydrotestosterone is a potent hormone. Most researchers believe it is responsible for male pattern baldness. The ingredients accomplish this by blocking the enzyme 5 Alpha-Reductase, which is required to produce dihydrotestosterone. Since the ingredients are all natural ones, there are no hormonal side effects. The hallmark of male-pattern baldness is the progressive miniaturization of follicles. This is caused by a genetic predisposition of individual follicles that renders them more sensitive to normal circulating levels of male sex hormones. This is because increased levels of 5 Alpha-Reductase in these follicles causes the conversion of male hormones (such as testosterone) into dihydrotestosterone.
Crinagen Side Effects
There are no known side effects.
What is Unique about Crinagen?
Crinagen differs from other topical scalp preparations in that it is sold by itself, without an accompanying shampoo. This means it is much cheaper than most similar treatment packages out there. Effective shampoos already exist and are easy to obtain. I would recommend ones that are anti-inflammatory, such as Nizoral which is available in 1% form in every grocery store's shampoo section. There is also a 2% form available by prescription which has shown results on balding similar to 2% Minoxidil, but in any case, we have heard nothing but good reports about Nizoral shampoo. It is a very effective immunosuppressant.
To prevent the inflammatory reaction to the scalp, the source of damage to the follicles must be eliminated. Again, DHT is the source of this injury, causing the progressive miniaturization of follicles. Crinagen contains both Zinc and Saw Palmetto, which reduce the production of DHT. In addition, it contains vitamin B6, which has been shown to work in concert with Zinc to inhibit 5 Alpha-Reductase.
