Photos of an FUE procedure on a man with traction alopecia
Earlier in this newsletter we announced that Dr. Alan Bauman is performing an FUE procedure for his patients. Here we have a few photographs of one of his procedures, which he has provided for us, as well as some specific info regarding this patient's experience with the procedure...

Follicular Unit Extraction Photos
Dr. Alan Bauman

The post-op photos won't be available till early next year. Here are some for the meantime. John has 4 areas of Traction Alopecia from hairpiece use for many years. He is a NW7, but only wants restoration of the hairpiece-induced areas of hair loss. He underwent a procedure of just under 100 grafts in about two hours to the area of loss on the right-hand side of his scalp.

Photos are preop, and one day post-op. You can see the post-op donor and recipient area. I had to shave the harvested donor area a little closer to get a good view of hair angulation for the extraction, so it looks a little strange.

He was healed to the naked eye in 5 days, but it took two weeks and another haircut for the area to look 100% natural. If I had shaved the entire donor area to a short length initially, he would have been completely and undetectably healed to the naked eye in less than a week.
