A guide for men experiencing hair loss who are interested in stopping or reversing it with treatments.

» Welcome to the Men's Hair Loss Guide.

There are FOUR steps to this guide. It is quick and straight forward. When you're finished, you should know exactly which treatments you need. Step 4 takes you there to get them.

We do not create nor sell our own products. We simply point you to the ones that work, based on solid science and feedback from our members.

What Hair Loss Is, and What It's Not

Pattern hair loss in men is not a result of stress. It is not a result of wearing that baseball cap every day (and while you sleep). It is not a result of having worn your hair in a ponytail during your wild years. It is not a result of a nutrient deficiency, and it is absolutely NOT due to excess sweating, or sebum on your scalp. Male pattern hair loss is called Androgenic Alopecia for a reason. Its the result of Hormones (Androgens) and a Genetic Predisposition. "Andro-Genetic". Simply put, you're losing hair because you are genetically predisposed to. Your follicles have been programmed to become sensitive to the changing hormonal activity in your scalp. Put another way, certain follicles become sensitive to your naturally occurring hormones, and the body begins to slowly reject them.

What is the significance of this? Only two types of treatments are going to work: Treatments that address the hormonal sensitivity, or treatments that stimulate growth despite it. This sentence is the holy grail of this web site, and it eliminates about 99% of the products you see advertised.

Show Me The Studies!

When you hear about a new treatment - the only things that matter are the ingredients, and the data supporting them. Do those ingredients address the hormonal sensitivity? Do they stimulate hair growth despite it? How do you know? The data. Always get the ingredients list, and always ask for published studies on the ingredients. Since you probably aren't a chemist, we have done the footwork for you. We've gathered the hair loss treatments with ingredients backed by published studies, and if you choose, you can even get them in our Product Center. Since we are just a conduit for acquiring effective treatments, we are always looking for newer technologies. We hope you will take advantage of our research, because if its not in our Product Center, it's probably not going to work.

Get Yourself on a Hair Loss Treatment Regimen

The general rule of thumb is that hair can be thickened anywhere it is still growing, and a hair loss treatment regimen is the route you should take. An area that is slick and hairless most likely cannot be restored, and hair transplants or a hair system (toupee) may be the best option. Since many combinations of thinning and "slick" are often present, the bottom line is almost always the same: You can benefit from getting on a treatment regimen today.

Transplants and hair systems should usually only be considered if you have tried a treatment regimen for a solid 2 years without satisfactory results.

No matter what your situation, a scientifically backed hair loss treatment regimen is in order. The real challenge is deciding which treatments best meet your needs, and optimizing your chances for success. This guide has three major parts: First, we will cover the causes, and types of hair loss. Then we will present product comparisons and reviews to help you make a decision. When you are ready to choose a treatment, we invite you to visit our Online Product Center where we offer every scientifically-backed treatment available.

Fighting Hair Loss: Start Small. Work Your Way Up.

Hair loss treatment is best viewed as a gradually increasing process. In other words, you want to start small, and build on your regimen. There are only a handful of legitimate products out there, so its important to pace yourself. Additionally, a smaller regimen is less costly and easier to maintain. You're getting older, and just like avoiding tooth decay by brushing, you need to avoid "hair decay" with treatments. You're in this for the long haul, and treatments need a minimum of 1 year to really start working. They usually top out at 2 years and maintain your results from there forward.

We've painstakingly included the only 10 or 12 products that can help, in our Product Center. Before you get there, lets figure out where you're at, and see what each treatment does best.
